This Privacy Policy describes how Dr. L.P. Lal Memorial Public School ("School", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information gathered through the E-Jankari mobile application ("App"). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use E-Jankari:

• Student SR Number — used as your login identifier
• Registered Mobile Number — used for authentication and OTP verification
• Device Identifier — used to bind your account to your registered device for security
• Home Location (GPS) — optionally collected with your consent for bus route planning and emergency contact purposes
• Firebase Push Token — used to send push notifications about fees, attendance and school notices
• Chat Messages — messages sent to teachers, class teachers and school management through the in-app chat feature

How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate your identity and provide secure access to the App
• To display your child's fee details, attendance, marks and school notices
• To enable communication between parents and school staff through in-app chat
• To send important notifications about fees, attendance and school events
• To plan bus routes and improve school transportation (location data only)
• To process online fee payments securely through Razorpay

Data Storage and Security

All data is stored on secure servers hosted at drlplal.co.in. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction.

• Login is secured with device binding — only your registered device can access your account
• First-time login requires OTP verification via SMS
• All communication between the App and server uses HTTPS encryption
• Payment processing is handled by Razorpay — we do not store card or payment details

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information to third parties. Information may be shared only in the following limited circumstances:

• School Staff — teachers and administrators can view student information relevant to their role
• Razorpay — payment information is shared with Razorpay for processing online fee payments
• MSG91 — mobile number is shared with MSG91 to send OTP SMS for verification
• Firebase (Google) — device token is shared with Firebase for push notification delivery

Location Data

Home location is collected only with your explicit consent when you tap "Save Home Location" in the app. This data is used exclusively for:

• School bus route planning
• Emergency contact purposes
• Catchment area analysis

Location data is stored securely and is only accessible to authorized school staff. You can update your location at any time from the Profile page, unless it has been verified and locked by school staff during a home visit.

Children's Privacy

E-Jankari is designed for use by parents and guardians of students. The App is not directed at children under 13. Student data displayed in the App (attendance, marks, fees) belongs to enrolled students of Dr. L.P. Lal Memorial Public School and is accessed by their parents or guardians.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your child is enrolled at the school. Upon leaving the school, personal data will be retained for a period required by applicable laws and then securely deleted.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your data (subject to legal requirements)
• Withdraw consent for location data collection at any time

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the App or via SMS. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
